About Pari Mahal - Srinagar
Pari Mahal (meaning "The Palace of Fairies") is a striking seven terraced Mughal garden perched atop the Zabarwan mountain range overlooking Srinagar and Dal Lake. Built in the mid 1600s by Prince Dara Shikoh the eldest son of Emperor Shah Jahan. It differs from traditional Mughal pleasure gardens because it was designed as a center for learning, astrology, and spiritual contemplation.
