About Shalimar Garden
Shalimar Bagh (also known as the "Abode of Love" or "Farah Baksh") is the largest and most famous Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley. Located on the northeastern shore of Dal Lake in Srinagar, it was built in 1619 by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife, Empress Nur Jahan. It is considered the peak of Mughal horticulture and was historically used as the royal court and imperial summer residence.
